The Semel Institute is seeking a Lab Assistant to support ongoing research projects focused on behavioral and clinical science. In this role, you will assist with conducting qualitative interviews in both English and Spanish, helping gather meaningful participant perspectives that inform the team’s research goals. You will also contribute to data entry, data management, and the organization and secure storage of research materials.
Additional responsibilities include supporting general laboratory operations and assisting team members with day‑to‑day research tasks as needed. This position is well‑suited for someone detail‑oriented, reliable, and interested in gaining hands‑on experience in research within a collaborative academic environment.
Hourly range: $25.75-$30.17
Required:
- Ability to coordinate data collection and data entry for research studies.
- Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty, students, patients and the public at all times.
- Skill at prioritizing assignments and ability to work concurrently on several projects.
- Ability to function effectively with several interruptions.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal direction.
- High level ability in the use of a PC using all Windows applications.
- Skill in maintaining organized filing systems.
- Skill in editing reports, correspondence, manuals, etc., for grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in the strictest sense.
- Skill in maintaining accurate timekeeping.
- High school diploma and or equivalent experience,
Preferred:
- B.A. or B.S. in Computational math or related field preferred
