We are seeking a full-time Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join a behavioral health hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. • Employment Type: Full-Time (Employed or Independent Contractor option)* Schedule / Hours: Full-time inpatient schedule* Call: Shared call (weeknights by phone; weekend rounding)* Patient Volume: Adult and Adolescent inpatient caseload (manageable, team-supported)* Location: Petersburg, VA (Richmond metro area)* Practice Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital (Adult, Military or Adolescent Unit)* Support / Care Team: Psychiatrists, APPs, nursing staff, therapists, case managers

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult and adolescent patients with mental health and substance use disorders* Conduct admission evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans* Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure coordinated care* Manage daily patient care, including medication management and progress evaluations* Participate in on-call coverage and weekend rounding as scheduled* Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and clinical support staff* Document patient care, treatment plans, and clinical updates

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry* Active or eligible Virginia medical license* Minimum of 4 years of training/practice experience* Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred* Meets credentialing requirements for medical staff
